What is IATF 16949?

IATF 16949 is a Quality Management System Standard specifically designed for the Automotive Industry. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard but includes additional automotive-specific requirements.

The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) developed and manages the standard, which was first published in October 2016.

The IATF 16949 standard emphasizes the development of a process-oriented quality management system that aims to enhance customer satisfaction by consistently providing products that meet customer requirements and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. IATF developed by International Automotive Task Force The Current Automotive QMS is IATF 16949:2016, First Edition & Published on 1st Oct 2016 and it is replaced by older version Replaced ISO/TS 16949:2009 It Contains only automotive-specific additional requirements; however, organization is still required to comply with ISO 9001:2015
